One Foul Love

from Totally, Completely by Harborer

i wrote this song in early march, after my usual "holy shit i just released an album! better write 20 more songs immediately!" phase that i am currently going through as well. this is one of the VERY very few that survived and i think it's for good reason. i think it's one of my better songs i have wrote. you can kinda hear me getting into it towards the end while i'm doing all those "ooooooohhhhhhh"s. as for what it's about? honestly i have no idea. it feels pretty good to be able to say that nowadays.

i always really enjoy the guitar part that i play live. it's a beautiful melody and it involves difficult picking so i got the best of both worlds.

being one of the first songs that i was shown, this was for sure one of my early favorites from the album. i seemed to always screw up playing this on bass for some reason but once i got it figured out well enough it was always super fun to play. the lyrics of this also double as some really ominous tidbits for flyers and the like.

One foul love crawls on the floor
Waiting for its masters to pick it up
It sits there waiting for a million years

One foul life watches it crawl
But it can't reach it's too high up
They're perfectly out of sync

One sour love slips through the crack
One cracked life sees only black
One foul love turning back

And you can't tell of what you do
Because your eyes belong to you
Your brain receives only what you want

I hope one day you'll see it on the floor
And remember what we had once before
It's just wishful thinking I know

One desperate love in front of the car
That same life not going far
One foul love shooting star
Shooting star

And all I feel is all I'll see
The longer it takes it's harder to believe
And what I want is what can't be
The longer you take it's harder to agree
And my foul love goes shooting star
